MYTHY:HOW MERRILL CAME TO BE
Le Mars was once called Le Merrill. Le Merrill was split up into two sections: Le Mars and Merrill. All the foxes lived in the bad part of town. All the Birds lived in the nice part of town. The foxes were jealous that the birds had all the food and water in their area so the foxes would constantly steal from the eagles even though the eagles said they would share. The eagles were tired of the foxes always stealing their things. One day, the eagles flew over the fox’s part of town and each of the birds grabbed a piece of the land and broke it into two parts. They flew the land seven miles north and placed it there. After a couple months, the eagles realized how harsh the punishment was and gave them a Casey’s gas station. This is the story how Merrill came to be.

9-6-12 ANWERS
1.) No, there are no supernatural or immortal powers in this myth.
2.) Michigan folklore, which is located in Michigan
3.) This Myth was about a man who was out in his garden painting. He had all the different pots full of paint and two birds kept swooping down. Every time they swooped down they got a little paint on their wings. Finally the man got sick of the birds and told them to fly away. As the birds flew away the colors on their wings stayed in the sky creating the rainbow.
4,) When I picture this myth being told I see the tribe huddle around a camp fire on a cold night. It was a story of a beautiful thing being created. It was probably told to give people hope.

AL: FAVORITE BOOK
My favorite book of all time would have to be James Patterson's First To Die. I read it about 8 months ago while on my cruise. It was the perfect day outside with the sun shining on me. I went and sat on the top deck of the cruise ship and read from about 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. All of James Patterson's books are murder mysteries. I love this about his books because they force me to keep reading to find out who the killer is. Another thing i really enjoy about Patterson's books is that the killer always has different motives for why they are killing people.
